I Am Growing...

Pásztó Márk David (11 years), ZUŠ, Holíč, Slovak Republic. ICEFA Lidice, 43rd Exhibition. A medal to the school for their collection of graphics.

  • Compared to earlier years, my growth has slowed down at the beginning of middle childhood. I will experience a growth spurt around age 10 with my large muscles developing.
  •
  • I have more control when using tools and am more dexterous. I can hold a pencil like an adult and construct more complex structures.
  •
  • I enjoy active learning activities.
  •
  • My body has greater strength, speed, and balance. I may overexert myself and need to rest.
  •
  • Around age 10 or 11, my coordination has almost reached those of adults. I have further refined my fine motor skills. I have greater hand-eye coordination and am developing upper body strength. Girls may begin puberty at the end of middle childhood.
